Why Shop ABC Warehouse for Gas Dryers?
Compare gas clothes dryers for different homes, laundry needs, and budgets.

Shop gas dryers at ABC Warehouse and compare dependable clothes dryers designed for everyday laundry. Gas dryers use natural gas or propane to generate heat while electricity powers the controls and drum, making them a practical choice for homes with an existing gas connection.

Gas dryers can be an economical choice for many households in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana where natural gas is widely used in homes. For households with an existing gas hookup, a gas dryer may cost less to operate than a comparable electric dryer depending on local utility rates, dryer efficiency, and household usage.

Compare large-capacity gas dryers, moisture sensor drying, steam cycles, wrinkle-care settings, quick dry options, sanitize cycles, smart connectivity, and other convenient features. Many front load gas dryers can also be stacked with a compatible front load washer to help save floor space.

ABC Warehouse offers competitive prices on gas dryers from leading appliance brands, along with available financing, delivery, and pickup options on qualifying purchases. Shop online or visit an ABC Warehouse location in Michigan, Ohio, or Indiana for additional help choosing the right gas dryer for your home.

Gas Dryer Buying Guide
Compare utility requirements, capacity, features, and installation before you buy.

Check Your Gas Connection

Gas dryers require an appropriate natural gas or propane connection along with an electrical outlet for the controls and drum. Installation requirements vary by dryer and by the fuel available in your home.

Quick Tip: Confirm the type and location of your gas connection before purchasing, and review the manufacturer's installation requirements for the specific dryer.

Match Dryer Capacity to Your Washer

Your dryer should have enough drum space for the loads coming from your washer. Larger-capacity gas dryers provide additional room for towels, bedding, family-sized loads, and other bulky laundry.

Quick Tip: If you have a large-capacity washer, choose a dryer with enough room for clothing to tumble freely during the cycle.

Compare Drying Features

Gas dryers are available with features such as moisture sensors, steam cycles, wrinkle prevention, quick dry settings, sanitize options, smart connectivity, and specialty cycles for different fabrics and load types.

Quick Tip: Moisture sensor drying can automatically adjust cycle time based on the load and help reduce unnecessary drying.

Frequently Asked Questions
Helpful information for comparing and choosing a gas dryer.
Do gas dryers dry clothes faster than electric dryers?

Gas dryers can heat quickly, but actual drying time depends on the dryer, load size, selected cycle, airflow, moisture level, and other factors. Both gas and electric dryers are available with sensor drying and quick dry options.

Are gas dryers energy efficient?

Gas dryers can be economical to operate, especially in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana where natural gas is widely used in homes. Actual operating costs depend on the dryer, how often it is used, local utility rates, and household usage.

Are gas dryers more expensive?

Gas dryers can cost more upfront than comparable electric models, particularly if a new gas connection is required. For homes that already have a gas hookup, operating costs may be lower over time depending on local natural gas and electricity rates.

Are gas dryers worth it?

A gas dryer can be a strong choice when your laundry area already has the proper gas connection. In many homes across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, natural gas can provide an economical source of heat. The best choice still depends on installation requirements, dryer features, purchase price, local utility rates, and household usage.

What hookup does a gas dryer need?

A gas dryer typically requires an approved natural gas or propane connection, an electrical outlet, and proper dryer venting. Exact requirements vary by model, so always review the manufacturer's installation instructions before purchasing.

Do gas dryers need to be vented outside?

Most conventional gas dryers require an exhaust vent to the outside of the home. Proper venting is important for dryer performance and installation safety. Follow the manufacturer's venting requirements and applicable local codes.

What size gas dryer should I buy?

Choose dryer capacity based on your washer size, household laundry volume, and the types of items you regularly dry. Larger-capacity gas dryers provide additional room for bedding, towels, and larger household loads.

Can a gas dryer be stacked with a washer?

Many front load gas dryers can be stacked on a compatible front load washer using a manufacturer-approved stacking kit. Compatibility varies by brand and model, so verify the washer, dryer, and stacking kit before installation.

Do gas dryers have moisture sensors?

Many gas dryers include moisture sensor drying. Sensors can detect moisture remaining in the load and adjust cycle time accordingly. Feature availability varies by brand and model.

What is the difference between a gas dryer and an electric dryer?

Gas dryers use natural gas or propane to generate heat, while electric dryers use electricity for heat. Both use electricity for controls and drum operation. The right choice usually depends on the utility connections already available in your laundry room, installation requirements, dryer features, and local energy costs.
